So, I finally joined the amrita.town webring. Really interesting folks who happen to the alumni of Amrita University across it’s different branches.

• I finally got around to writing notes as well. I have always wanted to have some form in which I can note down stuff informally and not make a whole blog or a post about it and this is exactly that. Currently, it is housing my anecdotes and learnings from different books in the forthcoming days, I plan to add numerous different things to it.

• I have also purchased a very small but super handy table lamp Now, I have never purchased any electronics off Swiggy Instamart, so it’ll be interesting to see how long this one lasts and whether this was a good investment or not. Other than that, I am quite happy with how handy and portable it is. The entire thing is the length of an iPhone.

• I am reading more books this week, or since the previous weekend. Primarily, I have re-read one of Austin Kleon’s works and now I am wrapping up the rest of his books in creativity. You can check out my notes section if you are curious.

• Later in the week, I also picked up Originals by Adam Grant. Needless to say, it’s an amazing book rooted in organizational psychology.

• Not much coding done this week, although I finally got my laptop and a bunch of tickets raised for installing software. It’s a locked down MacBook so the experience is a bit limited but hey, something is better than nothing. I have a new codebase to go through and figure stuff out. I can finally grow in the way I want to.

• On a personal front, health has not really been great. One bad shawarma is all it takes. Going to try and be more disciplined this weekend onwards so that I avoid external food altogether for 1 week. Interestingly, I have taken 0 WFHs this week which is a first for me since coming to Bangalore. Honestly, it feels good to go to office. I don’t have much to do at home either ways. The only thing getting in the way is my sleep schedule.

• I think I have go my work cut out for this weekend. Need to work on a few chapters from DDIA. I am looking to run till chapter 5 or 6. At the same time, I need to go through the entire codebase that Suraj has shared and figure out the necessary patterns that he wanted me to. And while I do all of this, I also need to lay down the groundwork for Ashwin’s backend service and rewrite the MCP testing layer completely in Python (for the sake of developing Python skills).

• In the future that is dubbed “next week”, I will mostly have to go through the latest MCP specification of this month’s July 27th release and figure out how to build out a Python MCP Client SDK. One constraint I am putting upon myself is that I need to keep it as close to the real library as possible while adding in sufficient customization for my team. This will be the real-test of my software development skills accumulated over the last few months.
